(Gajim was gnomed since June actually, Void Linux repos didn’t update to the new iteraction until a few days ago though so I wasn’t aware.)
Gajim was the best XMPP client for desktops, with a nice UI and all the features I’d ever need in a messenger (YMMV).
So of course it should have been turned upside-down with a UI redesign that removes compatibility with GTK3 themes while also looking extremely out of place on my system. Modern GUI design suck SO MUCH.
Dino was Gnomed from the very start. Probably not the greatest choice for anyone who dislikes Gnome UX, the problem is there aren’t a lot of fully baked alternatives.

After researching this stuff I will be watching Kaidan with interest and may eventually test it with Cheogram / JMP
They have a guide on how to set up SIP in Jitsi for use with clients that don’t support it natively, let me it up. Nobody wants to use Jitsi though lol
Thanks for mentioning Kaidan, I’ll keep an eye on it. Still getting a feel for the ecosystem and less confident in my knowledge of it after setting up my server 😭
