What benefits does Minecraft Bedrock have over Java? Cross-play? My kid plays modded Java. Mainly Cobblemon.

I’m not a dev, but bootc sounds like the way forward. Like, it has ostree baked in, so you get all of it’s benefits without having to deal with the drawbacks.

On top of that, bootc is more distro agnostic. So, ideal for an Arch base. And most of all, your distro would be contributing to the community for being a bootc arch reference.

Praise the lord (Linus), the one Windows feature I’ve been missing.

Speaking of pointers and clicking… the feature to scroll by holding down the middle mouse button and moving the pointer now has a new optional triggering mode: you can press the middle mouse button to enter and exit this scrolling mode, without having to hold it down. This makes it bit closer to the “Autoscroll” feature on Windows.

Why ostree instead of bootc?

IIRC Wayland is only a spec, compositora are the implementation. I believe Wayland has a reference competitor, maybe target that?

In my experience, the only safe way to dual boot is on two drives and use the bios to chose the OS.

Every other method is a countdown to a screwed up boot process.

I just managed to sit back and finally try the Appimage. I’m loving it. The login flow was easy, the UI is really good, I’m really liking it. There’s ONE thing I don’t like though: the Google login window should open in my default browser. Not the embedded one.

There are security reasons, and then there’s a UX reason: I’m already logged in on my default browser, if it opened in it, I would just have to allow it and that’s it. So, it’s win-win.

The Private Relay leak is the second issue to recently impact Apple’s paid-for privacy products. Last month 404 Media reported a bug in Apple’s Hide My Email feature was actually revealing peoples’ real email addresses. Apple knew about that issue for more than a year before fixing it.
