From experience most hate from project management systems come from people just don’t understand it and implement it poorly. Usually the miss the point. Unfortunately those are the people who need the structure the most.

Linux@programming.dev•Linux is Getting a New Default Folder in Your Home Directory
2·2 months agoIt’s only optional and configurable if it’s respected. Which often times it’s not due to convention.
And I do already actually, it’s just weird that I have to.
It’s 100% one of those carry overs from earlier days of computing and Linux not having great standards only great conventions. Like /bin vs /usr/bin

Linux@programming.dev•Linux is Getting a New Default Folder in Your Home Directory
22·2 months agoHonestly I say just let the user decide what goes in their home directory. I always get annoyed at all the random garbage in there. There should be a specific place that is user owned that isn’t filled with cruft and configuration files
Any question that you could get the answer too from reading a sentence or two from a book or article is generally an LLM will probably be able to answer.
It’s good for surface level exploratory research.
The deeper you go the more fallacies and bias start to enter the mix. LLMs by nature are biased and will only present you with one or two solutions/options/opinions on why and what.
Knowing when your hitting that point is difficult. I urge you to read documentation and human written guides and articles once you find yourself surprising what the LLM can give you.
As a software developer and script writer myself I can guarantee you what a LLM writes is not “gold” it’s more like bronze at best.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Bcachefs creator claims his custom LLM is 'fully conscious'
161·4 months agoPsychedelics aren’t magic potions you apply to the Brain. Consciousness is a very complex and dynamic system that varies WILDLY from person to person.
Especially dependant on dose. Who’s knows what will happen half the time
Medical dosage of ketamine? No depression! Using everyday in crazy amounts? Elon.

18·4 months agoFast pace environments = we didn’t do any planning or architecture so you’ll be fire fighting 24/7. Oh and our management doesn’t understand software development so they’ll be blind to the issues

Linux@lemmy.ml•back to distrohopping. I want a reliable OS (no rando ubuntu fork with no clear release/support schedule) with something else than Plasma or Gnome.
1·5 months agoI decided to start recommending it after I read the article lol
It still can’t to math or arithmetic, they have it set up so it will use tools like Wolfram or just straight python for calculation.
By their very nature they suck ass at math
