Just like cancer. And when it comes to cancer there only two options. Let the cancer kill the body, or we “cure” it first.

I’d take that a step further and say they SHOULD NOT make profits at all. If it makes more money than it needs, lower the price and give the taxes back. Investments in improving public services shouldn’t be attached to the money it makes either. It should just be another part of the expenses regardless, and be a separate tax. Completely detach profits and making money from making everyone’s life better.
