Yeah buddy, that’s because you’re 12!
Nah

Yeah buddy, that’s because you’re 12!
This is kind of like the “you won’t have a calculator with you all the time” argument
It’s not even that! Students without a calculator don’t see their test scores crater, the work just takes longer.
It did not have a significant impact.
Then this is obviously different, because we are seeing a significant impact on test scores. Students that use AI test poorly.
I see short/choppy sentences, but not a lot of other slop writing indicators. What are you on about?

It’s the energy crisis. They realized “oh shit money is real now” and are trying to sooth investors.
Interested how Monday will go. This is not what investors want to hear, even if it’s softened by markets being closed.

I expect we’ll see robotic kitchens operated by remote workers before we see automated ones.

It’s a fact, not some kind of defense of gambling. The US economy is only not in a recession by technicality, because of a few industries propping it up: gambling, healthcare, and data centers.
Healthcare is real economic activity, everything else is fake and parasitic. But, once they fail things could unravel.

Investors, insider traders, fraudsters, the usual.

Isn’t this basically one of the only growth industries left?

Hopefully I never see content from Xitter again.

Well of course, the problem is that the law exists to punish poor people. I’m just saying, fines could be made into something devastating.
For instance, they have to pay everything upfront or their company is sold off to pay the fine.

I dunno, a €890 trillion fine would be good too. Bankrupt their company.

The ones on the hook for those loans are the data centers and the banks. Samsung already got its money - no refunds.

Right, but efficient operation of traffic has downstream effects on all of society. One idea I’ve had is if monitoring traffic allowed for the state to mandate that every work place had their quitting times staggered out, so, factory A closes at 5:25 and factory B closes at 5:35 and factory C closes at 5:45 etc etc. That way, there don’t need to be traffic jams, because society is organized in a rational way according to everyone’s needs.
Social control on a massive scale (good)

It kind of is, but that doesn’t make it bad? Like, traffic has a massive scale, and controlling it means controlling at least that aspect of society and all of the downstream societal effects. That’s… good? The state should be controlling some aspects of society on a massive scale, because the state’s scale is massive.

Why are you talking about “their implementetion of censoring”? It has nothing to do with the OP.
The OP is about China matching Anthropic and you can’t engage with that topic because you hate China so much.

Ultimately, your opinion doesn’t matter. China is winning and there’s nothing you can do about it.
@yogthos@lemmy.ml is doing you a favor by trying to prepare you for the new world that China is creating. We just want you to understand what is happening; this is hospice care for the US empire. The empire is dying no matter how hard you try to deny the changes to our material reality. If you don’t want to listen, that’s fine! You’ll live in the new world whether you accept it or not.

“Become”

Plastic is a hard problem to solve since meaningfully recycling most of it requires a expensive energy and chemical inputs.
Also, I’m running into some weird math. Doing some light searching, China’s plastic consumption demand will reach a peak at 119 million tons in 2030. That means their recycling target will be able to meet 16% of total plastic demand in China, but for comparison, China recycles 17% of it’s plastic today. I doubt China is aiming for plastic recycling to remain about the same if it’s supposed to be a new national target - I guess they might not be looking to increase the percentage of recycled plastic and are only interested in keeping up with demand? Or, probably likely, something is wrong with my sources because I can’t get behind paywalls. 🤷♀️
Law is class power.
