That’s for Arch users :)

Android ran out of desserts.
The buffet table I eat at has the same problem on occasion.
Go full Ubuntu ? next release Transcendental Toad
they really just crave an alternative

woah, it always seems the other way ? can I ask why ?
I use LMDE by the way ;)

Arch is a do it yourself distro, which includes some maintenance - all of which is explained in the wiki during the installation process and mostly comes down to checking the news for required manual actions and looking through pacdiffs. if you skipped that part of required reading, arch might just not
which is fair enough and why I am on Debian (LMDE), all I really want to do is click an icon on the dock and use the program. Hell, I barely do that these days with apps starting using StartUp

i had a whinge in the comment section of a recent ArsTechnica article where they reviewed a bunch of Laptops and not one from Framework or Tuxedo haha
I have my eye on a Framework Pro 13 but really don’t need it, i mostly desktop. I don’t Laptop much and just use an old MS Surgace Pro7+ with LMDE installed.

But it is stable and has put in a lot of work for vendor support, which is why so many distros (including Mint) are downstream derivatives from Ubuntu.
which is why I’m on LMDE

Just wait until the author visits the Netherlands!
i took the author to mean the remarkable thing was about the pivoting from a car centric shitfest to cycling, not that it was better than say Utrecht. As she points out most cities build a little cycling infra , it’s mostly tokenism and nearly no one or only the hardcore uses it. Car drivers then say “see, no one cycles in our city” and feel vindicated in their stupidity and it never gets better from there.

Mint has LMDE at least and are pushing it pretty hard. Never used it as a daily driver but have heard that it is stable and fast.
I use it in my Laptop and Desktop, works well and I have had no issues. but then all I do is click an icon on the dock and go about my day, i like that level of dealing with the OS.

holy shit, mine was $15 here in Australia so that’s about 50c in US dollars (some sarcasm) AND that includes charging my ecar. i have 8.4kW of solar on the roof and I get paid a grid feed in tariff for the extra kW I don’t use. We are conscious about doing electric intensive things when the suns shining though eg oven for baking, charging the ecar and ebikes, hot water on from 11-5 only etc

surely just using the terminal?

well, anyone making these chips is using ASML lithography gear, so there is that.

quantitative easing, the Fed buys the bonds.

well,.that’s not true.

They’re assholes. Why do you think the world is the way it is, so little consideration for others.
Apple runs the phone,
something like 80% of phones worldwide use Android. Maybe there are different metrics for “runs the phone”
Libre Office ?

No URL in the Boost app either, same problem others are reporting.
i never understood why my Government in Australia doesn’t have a tech division a Linux version to use, Libre Office software etc a messenger service, an email and a Mastodon instance. Doesn’t mean you have to use them by the Governments should and be available to all including our Oceania brothers if they wish including funding them.
Giving up digital sovereignty is beyond my understanding, let alone hosting Government. and financial services on foreign owned cloud services.
