IMO it’s the same situation as with POTUS45 and POTUS47 elections. Not talking about twisted facts and criminal behaviour would be to condone it and speaking out creates publicity.

Word fascism got (intentionally)overloaded over the last decade and means very little to a lot of people, reducing it to equivalent of “jerk” rather than evoke memories and feelings towards atrocities of WWII etc. So we need a better language 'cause when we call someone fascist today many tune out.

All of this is to say that I see nothing wrong with contents of the article but I suspect it has very little of desired effect due to the above. There must be a better way, but at the moment I do not know what is it.

well, then there are Flatpaks, which are fairly easy to install, cross-distro etc. But essentially above is correct installing “random sh#t” on Linux is possible but WHY would you want to bring really bad security practices into environment where it a lot easier to implement good security?
