For years…every time I needed to configure a printer. Sometimes when I needed to find drivers for a wifi card. These days…it just works.

11·6 days agoEven if the numbers are a little off, that’s a wonderful sight. Those of us using Linux for decades it feels like the early days of the internet when AOL users came flooding in.
I have Ubuntu running with a sound bar and monitor that only pulls 40 watts. My processor is one of those vanilla box mini computers…GMKTech. I’m able to run it off a 1 kwh solar power station and it lasts a laughably long time. How much more efficiency do you need? I have fans that use more power than my desktop.

The reason I just overwrote the Windows partition, instead of futzing with fixing dual boot was GDID. MSFTs global ID that tracks, literally, everything you do.
