      • no ads or sponsor crap (sponsor only if sponsor is <5s and only at the start of vid)
      • buffering is efficient and quick
      • subtitles available in widescreen, small etc
      • can change volume and resolution
      • can be judged by community with a non-karma system
      • little to no algorithm or AI slop
      • can custom select videos (by date, popularity, tags, or whatever)
      • peer to peer, decentralised and FOSS
      • privacy friendly
      • can download, usable offline
      • none of that copyright bullshit

      In short, a no-nonsense normal video player without a profit motive.

          I think he was answering the question “how good does a video player need to be?”, because many of those points don’t apply to pornhub, which also goes more into the site behind it than the player proper
