I have Arch linux with kde plasma. Now the problem is, i play Ark survival ascended, and its wery demanding game. But for some reason only 80% of my gpu is used. In cs go 2 its also using 80% of my gpu in game but thats fine because it gives me 300+ fps so i dont complain about not using my gpu to the max. But in menus and settings of cs go it ramps up to 99% usage, while in ark it stays to 80% even in menus before game starts. Pc specs: Radeon rx 6800xt Ryzen 9 5950x Ddr4 64GB 3200MHz Ssd 2TB PS Corsair 1000W

    Both of those games are CPU bound. Think about the amount of calculations for the thousands of entities (and tens/hundreds of players) Ark has to handle at any given frame. For CS2 it’s more about calculating as many frames as possible as responsively as possible while the GPU can effectively just focus on minimal eye candy.

      In ark ascended same cpu was allowing this gpu to run at 99% utilizacion and i had 110 fps but it was pirate bay copy. So i bought the game legaly and now gpu is at 80% and i have 80fps… Do you understand what is veard here? Same game one from pirate bay one legaly bought and two diferent performanses…

      Its software thing, not hardvare. I just tested csgo yesterday again and i noticed when i die and watch others play, gpu is runing at 99% but when new game starts and i start playing it runs at 80%. Thoy i have over 300fps in both scenarios on max graphical settings so i dont mind.
