I hope it pops, but everyone is misquoting Nvidia. Pretty sure they said they will invest up to 100 billion, they never said a time frame and the wording implies that investment would be spread over time.

They’ve made substantial progress in the past 10 years. Sadly, the lack of access to EUVL machines is what’s really holding them back from making higher end and more competitive technologies.
They are actively working on making EUVL machines domestically, which would be incredible given ASML is the only organization in the world that currently makes them. Still, it’ll probably not be till the 2030s that they actually can get into production with that.

Likely nothing in this case since they aren’t going to be a full sponsor anymore. I believe real full sponsors can have some impact on the direction of feature development but that isn’t bad because it’s open source and adding features large companies want and will pay to have developed in open source tools isn’t bad.
